Born on March 22, 1987, Patrick was the eleventh of twelve children in the McGonigle family. Growing up in a large, close-knit household helped shape the compassion, resilience, and strong work ethic that defined his character throughout his life. Those who knew him best remember him as someone who was always willing to help others, offering support and encouragement whenever it was needed.
Patrick graduated from Maple Shade High School in 2006, where he distinguished himself as a student-athlete, participating in both football and wrestling. After graduation, he attended Williamson Trade School, where he developed a passion for carpentry before choosing to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy.
During five years of honorable military service, Patrick served as a member of the Navy’s Construction Battalion, better known as the Seabees. Guided by their motto, “We Build, We Fight,” he completed deployments to Diego Garcia, Japan, Afghanistan, Bahrain, and Iraq, serving alongside fellow sailors with dedication, courage, and professionalism.
While Patrick was proud of his military service, those closest to him say his greatest accomplishment was his family. He was a loving husband, devoted father, caring son, loyal brother, and dependable friend whose greatest happiness came from spending time with those he loved. His kindness, humility, and willingness to put others first earned him the admiration and respect of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
News of his passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes from family members, classmates, fellow veterans, and friends, many of whom have shared memories of Patrick’s quiet strength, generous spirit, and steadfast commitment to helping others both during and after his military service.
